This runtime plot is for an ElektroLumens Anglelux. The Anglelux is ElektoLumens' Luxeon Star conversion of a military style 90 degree bent-head flashlight. Two Duracell D size Alkaline batteries were used.

Equipment used is a photocell and a Radioshack 22-805 multimeter with a PC interface that is using ScopeView software (V 1.08).

The vertical axis is in ma and horizontal axis is one hour per division.

Be aware that your actual battery milage may vary from that indicated by this runtime plot.

Re: Run-Time Plot - Anglelux LS Flashlight

As is common with LEds and Alkaline batteries, the ability of the flashlight to produce low levels of light far exceeded my patience to run the test into multiple days of measuriment. I actually ran the plot for 35 hours. The last 7 hours of the test showed no change in the output of the flashlight. At the end of the test, the flashlight was still producing a useable amount of light.

That's an impressive runtime on 2 D cells!! How much current initially is driving the Luxeon ?

Where's this flashlight on Electrolumen's website?

Re: Run-Time Plot - Anglelux LS Flashlight

Hey Roy,
This is off topic, but is there some database of "Time to 50% Brightness" of all the lights you've tested somewhere? I think that'd be very good informative data.

Re: Run-Time Plot - Anglelux LS Flashlight

No database but the runtime to 50% can be estimated from the plots.

Man oh man...this is more like how the MX991/U ought to be issued.

Thanks for doing the work and posting this, Roy.
