I'm on a quest to find the best small light for running before daylight. My criteria has been: very small and lghtweight, small diameter so it is confortable between my fingers, andmy high and low setting. So far the ITP A3 seems to work best for me. Would appreciate any ideas, suggestions, or recommendations anyone can provide!

how long running?
because thats of prime importance on brightness and runtime ...
most 1*AA lights (= small and light) offer just under 1 h on high setting ...

--> Quark AA
better: headlamp --> Zebralight H51w

more power / more runtime: light with 18650 Li-Ion battery

I actually do have an Olight I3. (new version of the ITP A3). Its great for a keychain light, i think it says it does 70 minutes on high. At 70 lumens for $20, its fantastic. If you want, I'll go for a run after dark with it just for you, and report back (for serious night running, i think a headlamp would be more appropriate though). Kinda keen to do the run anyway, so it'll be good motivation for me! I await your orders... haha.

the zebralight H501 should fit the criteria of what you are looking for nicely, it is a floody light though, so if you are looking for more throw then look into something like the H31.
