Last month, a coupla seemingly very serious-looking individuals walked into my office and asked me to help eval this combo. I asked what was in it for me. They looked at each other and then each sat at opposite ends of my desk and one said "...I'm afraid you don't have a choice." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
The HELL I don't!, I blurted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
The other one then said "You don't really have a choice, ooold man. You owe us BIG time." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I nervously sat in my chair and said OK, OK I do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
They are former colleagues. I asked them to dress up as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck at my youngest granddaughter's last birthday party. My daughter-in-law has lots of photos of each of them. She said they looked absolutely A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E; they must be reeaaally good friends. They are! ...and I did owe them one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Anyhoo...In case some here have not actually handled the Smith 340PD, it is revolver light enough that you can literally hang it on your neck! The ARC LS is one that really throws well to about 21 feet even in a slightly light-polluted enviroment.
This short, stubby, 1-CR123 ARC light is not suitable for any grip while discharging a firearm that I have ever known. A short length of skateboard tape wrapped around the battery compartment did the trick. What I ended up with is a modified Harries/Rogers grip that works well enough for these guys to feel comfortable using at point blank to 7 feet.
My debt was paid IN FULL when they saw the look on my face when I first discharged the 340. OOOOUCH!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
We settled on Glaser 357 Magnum 80gr-1800fps/575ftlbs as the ideal load.
Peter (Gransee), nice product! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
