Sold/Expired Sales Thread: USB Micro Charger for Li-Ion/Poly Cells

It would require a switch to swap the 100/300mA inputs
to the chip to pull it off.. And i haven't found a switch that
is small enough to shove inside the body. There is literally
no room in there for any extra components 🙁

:paypal: $41.60 for one charger with international shipping.

It's a pity you couldn't find a correct switch 🙁 If I want to be able to change the current myself, do I have to ask for a charger without the epoxy inside?

This post has been Re-Done for a sales thread..

A Green status led ontop the charger is for letting you know
it is powered up and ready, And it will turn off when the
battery is done charging.

I still have problems reading the data sheet, I don't like the way it's written 😡

"CHG indicates when the battery is fully charged by going high impedance when the charger is in voltage mode and charge current falls below 50mA. Charging does not stop when CHG goes high."

The last sentence is interesting - have you found at what current it stops? I hope it does eventually stop...

Hi Sabrewolf
This is a great looking device -why wouldn't
people use a normal charger though? Just for pocketability sake?

Can you make a bigger one that can do higher current & multiple batts?

Don't know if you read of VanisleDSM starting
on a charger -but never finishing? Was
hoping for one of those :-(

I'll have to think of a situation where i'd use
one of your mini's.

Cheers
Dom

Exactly! I'm already carrying AA/AAA, cell phone, iPod, & lappy charger + spare 123's. I'd much rather carry a "spare cable" (that's what this charger boils down to) than a DSD charger craddle + its power adapter on top of all the other bricks I have to haul around.

Actually, I plan to get one of those wall adapters that have a USB outlet. Then I can charge cell phone, iPod, and batteries off of a single power supply, and not rely on my computer to be on.

Ohh, These little guys will come with the Chargers for free as long as they are available 🙂

Sabrewolf,
I am not sure which model to order? I mostly use a standard laptop but once in a while I will use a small netbook. Can I assume if my little notebook can power a small external HD, it will work fine with the 300ma model or should I be cautious and go with the 100ma model? This will have slower charge time i assume even when used on a full sized PC or external powered USB hub?

Thanks

Your netbook should be able to power the 300mA model just fine

Sabrewolf, is there a limit on the input current for this adapter? I'm thinking of buying one of those wall power adapters with a USB outlet; it's rated at 1000mA.

I think for any IC it'll consume the current it needs and that would be that...unless your power supply is current regulated when in that case it might :poof:

Sorry about the looooooong deeeeelaaaaays in the "Paid" list....
Been kinda bizzy here 😗 I just picked up some more of the
keychain wallet-thingies for yous ceepee'effers
