I'm having a really odd problem with eneloops in my L2D Rebel 100. With eneloops, I'm getting around 5-6 lumens less than with the sanyo 2700's.

The eneloops in my L2D CREE Q5 is around 0.4-0.7 lumens more than 2700's.

I did this test by doing a bounce test in the bathroom with lightmeter and light mounted 1 metre from the ceiling. I used the same eneloops each time.

Anyone have any idea as to why the Rebel 100 doesnt perform as well with eneloops? I kind of expected that if there was any difference, it would be minimal.

If you used turbo setting the difference is still minimal - less than 3.5%
Don't forget that every measurement has some tolerance, with your setup it can be +-5%, maybe less, maybe more... You really can't tell that there is 0.4-0.7 lumens difference that is nonsense.

I wouldn't consider that a problem if the low is 5-6 lumens lower! On the higher settings, I don't see how a difference of a couple of lumens even matters.

If I had a light meter, I would probably be doing these kind of tests, too, but, in practical use, I think you won't notice a functional difference.

Forget about these measurements, go play with your flashlight, and feel good about using rechargeables. :p

Sorry, but I'm going to have to say that 5-6 lumens is minimal.

I should have got the units right in the first place. Its in Lux but anyway you're both right, its not really a problem. I guess its more of a curiosity as to why the Rebel 100 isnt as good supposedly with eneloops. Anyway, getting some more eneloops so I'll see if they come up with the same result.

Also getting so other eneloop type batteries too called enekeep. A bit cheaper than eneloops and they promise the same performance but we shall see.
