I'm at the final stage of putting the lights together and test run each light for 15 minutes to make sure everyting works properly. After that is packing time. This is time consuming as light must be position in the middle of the box and preventing rattling what so ever. Remember that this light is not that "light" it weight close to 266g. Therefore, any loose space may inadvertently cause the lid to be openned during transit. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Update:

OK here is the final product with laser engraving. Lettering height is 3mm which I think is about right for its size. I'll start shipping these babies out this Saturday (Sept 9) and should takes 2-3 days to sent them all. I don't want to load the post office thirty or so heavy boxes and create suspecious and unnecessary risk of you know what 😀

I'm really curious about the hardness of this coating, H22A. I've read that TiAlN is more popular these days than TiN, but in any case: how does the denting and scratching resistance compare to Type 3 HA on aluminum? That is to say, if you scratch the two surfaces together, who loses? If you hit both with a hard quartz rock, which dents the most? I think the answer to both is Type 3 HA, but I wonder how they feel in person 🙂

Also I wonder if the TiN breeds stick well to titanium alloys, thus making titanium lights with this surface more practical than the steel lights.

Ok I have serial number 4, 9 and 12. However, Roboholic has the first dip as his reserved serial number was messed up during laser etching.
