About the time I swear to my wife I will not need another toy...this has to come along...LOL
===========================================

Zzz...Flame - just like Zzz...Lite but with no difuser and a more
transparent body. Much more light gets out and the effect of colored
flames can be seen. Available now just not on their website yet.

Zzz...Lantern - 9 modes, looks like a Zzz...Flame but with all white
LEDS and a mode button for control plus a carry/hang handle. Similar
battery life to eternalights. Available sometime within the next 60 days.

Gauss Gun Camera. Looks like a camera but fires .177 Cal bb's with
Gauss Gun Technology (Plans only - this is a law suit waiting to happen
if anyone were to build and sell completed units). Next 90 days.

just got zzzz lite today! love it!!!! great ambient/cool night lite. techass & arc are my fave mfgs. though i own others, these are the most interesing to me. i noticed that by turning the z lite base side up, it'll go to "lantern mode" with 1 shake, rather than the 5 it would take in the normal base down position. normal? i guess. harmful? probably not, for a "kidproof" light. just an observation on first nights use.looking forward to new products from all led light mfgs.

Well, I certainly liked the Elite Xray Eternalight, and I was *really* happy not to have to pay $80 for one. Any news on LED flashlights? I don't seem to have more than 5 or 6 in the room with me... (darn things are keeping me broke....but they keep getting so much *better*....arghh....)

Keep us posted. I have a jar with change in it, probably enough for a new flashlight.....
Or I could sell some blood.... ;-)

The Zzz...Lite is very popular in my house. But I'd still like to see it in a higher quality globe. A plastic that had the look and feel of frosted glass would be much nicer. You see plastic with this look and texture in patio drink glasses sometimes.

Compare how professionally made the Color Kinetics Sauce Light Washer is to the Zzz. The Zzz looks too home made.

I see what you are saying...
I looked everywhere for a better quality container, found it, installed it ( mod #3

) and ended up going back to the original one as it seemed to put out more light. The thinner the plastic the more the effect seemed to show up. I looked in every Wallmart, Target, Sams etc and the closest thing I found was a Sippi-Cup for a toddler.

One look at the Light Washer and you realize that it is manufactured to be what it is. The Zzz looks like it uses parts that already existed for other purposes. It needs a globe that's made specifically for it.

I got rid of the plastic tube and simply covered the leds with a bit of the white fuzzy "cotton" type stuff and secured it with a small rubber band. Output is alot more and you still don't see the bad effects of individual colors. Try it!

Also, I'm going to sand the led's a bit to make the surface rougher...to disperse the light some more. This might help as well?

yes it does seem to use existing "parts", and is downright "homely looking" but for me the technology is top of the line for leds. guess i need the ck products too! reaching for damn cc# again

Franken-the "AA" lightwand also gives an awful lot of enjoyment too.. lots of variable settings & effects & well made! -for a measly $15.

thanks for the link phred, that music light looks really nice. that and the sauce wand looks like about a c note. i think i have almost enough led flashlights? (never) but these new multi-color led devices are another addiction themselves. probably won't be long before the "led bug" has me clicking on the "submit order" button again

FRANKEN2. You can buy the lightsickle w/o music. It's a bit cheaper. I have two and my wife and I enjoy them. Very well made and finished. Can be ran from battery or wall wart. I also have the CK Wall washer. It also is nice but I wish
wink.gif
that it was offered as a table top unit.

Hmm I got an email from Techass today announcing their partnership with Arc and announcing they are are now selling the new Zzz...Flame for $24.99 introductory offer. Well I visited their site but I can't find any mention of the Flame. Does anyone have any pics of it? I really like my Zzz...Lite, but I'd really like to know what the Flame looks like before I bought one.

Thanks Wolfman, guess I just missed that one. Now for a mod idea! I was thinking about getting one of those small glass candle holders that looks like a miniature fish bowl that they sell at Walmart. I think the innards of the Zzz...Lite would fit in there fine. Now if I were to get some of that glass etching paste you can get at hobby shops and just cover the whole bowl, maybe I'll come up with the perfect frosted look. Has anyone ever tried anything like that? Just an idea.

Great idea. I think I have put the guts in just about everything. I took the guts with me shopping one weekend just to measure as many things had too narrow an opening...and others were not quite deep enough.

I also put short lengths of aquarium tubing, slightly curved, on the individual led's etc etc.
