Sculzendorf HID

Does anybody actually own one of these Schulzendorf HID`s that are being sold only at www.globetrotter.de?
Or maybe someone saw or held one at one of their outletstores.

I do not think anybody has one.
Looking at the thing and the total lack of information and knowing that globetrotter does not allow to contact the manufacturer for some info, I'd never buy this thing.
Something similar should be Barbarin's DragonHID or the upcoming (when?) Lupine HID torch.

I thought it was funny that the only info was on Globetrotter`s site.
I think i might make another HID light myself maybe using 3 Pilas and keeping it smaller than Shulzendorf.

globetrotter seems to have some special deal with Schulzendorf ... you cannot fins that company nor can you get reliable or good info. It was the same problem with their LED lights (pretty well made but lacking electronic skill), but at the price point of the HID I'll say "no thanx", I do not trust ...

P.S.: in addition to that, it is RECHARGABLE ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif ... wargh!

Maybe it's my knowledge of German but doesn't the blurb on this site specify that the lamp is a xenon lamp ? Is that the same as HID ? ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

In Germany the HID lights are falsely reffered to as "Xenon" lights. This started with the automotive HIDs and causes some confusion ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I just looks like a fistful of AA cells (probably 8) and a WA ballast/bulb.
When you look at other descriptions of Schulzendorf lamps, they just advertize 'nomral' properties as something special..

Yeah reading it all it seems a bit like belogny i ordered their catalogue to be shipped to my folks for them to bring over to me the end of the month. I do not thinks that i will find anything to convince me to buy this puppy seeing that it is not even submersible.
It looks good but so did my first wife...........
