Hello everyone,

I'm currently looking for a flashlight that can effectively illuminate a stage area and is also highly portable. I want something that can provide bright, diffused light but isn't cumbersome to carry around. Needs to last 90 minutes minimum on batteries.

Ideally, I need this flashlight for both indoor and outdoor settings, as my performances might take place in various locations. Durability is a priority because I intend to use it regularly. If you have any recommendations based on personal experience or knowledge of specific models, I would greatly appreciate your insight.

Thanks in advance for your help!

4000 lumen Milwaukee Rover light. Get a 12 amp 18 volt battery for longest runtime. You can also plug it in to an extension cord if you have 120 volt a/c power for indoor venues. Small lights will dim down in minutes due to poor heatsinking. You need something to stay bright so people don't start to trip on stage after 5 minutes. I have the older 3000 lumen version. Used it to light up a room so my wiring crew could quickly install light fixtures. They use C.R.I. 80 or better l.e.d.s that are warm white. Looks good for stage lighting.

If a folding COB light, the Olight Swivel Pro Max might work. 1600 lumens for 10 minutes then drops to 1000 for 240 minutes. Built in batttery though and $90. For $100 you can usually find the Milwaukee light on sale, but then you need a battery and charger. The Milwaukee will effectively light up a stage for hours. If on a tight budget and you can go with 600 lumens max, the Nitecore NWL20 is an excellent and versatile light for $35 and the 21700 battery is replaceable (swap the battery for another if it's drained instead of waiting for it to charge). You could also consider just buying a few of the Nitecore lights and spreading them out around the front of the stage to get enough lumens desired. They are highly portable, can be used with stand to angle light at stage, or use magnets or built in carabineer clip to get light from above (hang from tree branches or metal objects over stage)

I should have mentioned that while it's not always the case, there have been times when I've arrived for gigs to discover that the lighting is outdated. @Hooked on Fenix, I will definitely look into the two COB lights you mentioned, as well as the 4000 lumen Milwaukee Rover light.

Question: You asked about a flashlight, however the responses are mostly about portable tripod-mounted lights. If tripod-mounted lights are what you need then these responses are good suggestions. If you're really looking for a hand-held flashlight solution however, you might consider one of the more floody 26650 lights, such as the JetBeam T4Pro.

The Swivel Pro Max can be tripod mounted, but has it's own stand , magnets, and carabineer clip for other options. The Nitecore has all but the tripod mount. The Milwaukee sits on the ground but has a tilting head to angle the beam. It's not tripod mounted. The smaller 1500 lumens version of the Milwaukee you can mount on a stick of EMT pipe to use like a tripod light if you hammer the EMT pipe into the ground first, but it won't also run on a/c power like the 4000 lumens light will. None of the lights I suggested require a tripod. They can be angled at ground level or for the cobs with magnets or clips, also angled down from above or sideways.
