Hello all!

I just found this site a few days ago by accident and all I can say is "wow'. I did not realize that there was such an interest in flashlights and modifications. I have looked around the site and attempted to search for some info. Is there a particular section devoted to newbies and explanations of modifications?

I am basically interested in changing several maglite models and some surefires. I want to experiment on them as they are broken and I won't feel bad if I screw up.

Thank you and kudos to a great site!!

Welcome to CPF!

I must admit to being curious.... What did happen to those Maglite and Surefire models to cause them to break?

Well, the maglites, the one had switch problems and the other had a battery leak in it. The surefire, the plastic one for some reason didn't seem to reach full power after the original batteries were replaced. Tried different brands of batteries, no luck. The other one, I dropped from approximately 15 ft to a concrete floor and smashed the lens. I have a tendency to be tough on things----so these mods seem to right up my alley.

Your wallet will regret your finding this site - I know mine does. :naughty:

There is a ton (or more) of info here. Just read, search and ask questions.

The Surefire complaints should be addressed directly to Surefire customer service. Those should be covered under warranty. The Maglite switch also should be covered under Mag's warranty, and if you had a reputable brand of battery in the other one (and kept the leaked batteries) the battery manufacturer will usually replace your light if you send it in.
