In the real world what will be the differences between these two lights. The Output and run times are similar...actually a bit less in the C2 for run time...so what's the advantage over the smaller light? Is the throw that much more? The physical size seem negligible looking at pictures although I have neev held a C2/M2.

Thanks....

The size difference between the E-Series and the standard (including C-Series) is significant in my opinion. The debulking and unhefting that the E2e has been through really makes a difference when carrying it compared to the C2 clipped inside your pocket.

Why get a C2 over an E2e?
Ability to use the P61 High Output Lamp Assembly.
Ability to use the CombatGrip.
Ability to more ergonomically grip the flashlight in high-stress situations and/or when wearing gloves, in the cold/wet where a larger flashlight is easier to grip and operate.
Ability to add the as-yet-unreleased KX5 LED bezel.
Beam is more intense although the difference is not massive (IMHO)

Why get an E2e over a C2?
Much smaller (in length, thickness, weight & bulk/heft)
Easier to carry pocketclipped whilst wearing light-weight clothes (such as suits)
Ability to use the KL4 bezel and as-yet unreleased KX1 LED bezel.

I would suggest that as a general EDC the E2e wins out.
If you actually need to carry and use a flashlight, especially in high risk/stress situations then a C2 or Z2/G2Z could be more useful.

Thanks for the detailed response Size15s.

I have an LED modded EDC enroute I am just thinking about an incan as well so all the bases are covered. Was torn between the two above. I have played with an E2E in a shop in daylight so couldnt really assess the light but ergonomically it was fine. I don't think the C2 is too big for what I'd use it for but either way you have good points.

BTW do you know where the best EU prices are for LF bulbs for these lights?
Thanks!

I would take a C2 because there are more bulb/led/battery configurations available to play with. but that's coming from someone who can't stand keeping a flashlight "stock."

:rock:If I can mod a C2 to peform like your avatar and sig line then C2 it is! Oh and it needs to run at least an hour or two...make it happen!

lol, that's a big spotlight, bout the size of carry-on luggage.

to steal a common CPF quote:

1. compact size
2. brightness
3. long runtime

"choose any 2"

I would get the E2e. The MN02 LA is IMHO a very under appreciated lamp. Bright, decent throw, and with at least 2 hours of great output. The spares carrier for this lamp is also alot smaller. My only gripe is that SF does not sell a fixed loop holster for it.

I'm leaving for Turkey tomorrow for 22 days of vacation and this is the hand held light I'm taking with me. I've got a MN02 LA in my spares carrier incase I need a longer running setup. I will use this exploring the undergroud cisterns of Istanbul.

Or you can buy both!
