Hi folks. I wanted to get a gift for a friend in the form of a SureFire E2.

Question 1: Assuming extremely casual use, is getting a spare bulb a bit overkill?

Question 2: I noticed that I can't seem to find a holster specifically made for the E2 in the SureFire catalogue. Does such a thing exist? If so, can I get the part number?

Thanks much for your time,

The last time I spoke to Sure Fire there was not one but that was a while back. If you need something that will hold it the Uncle Mikes 7418-1 fits pretty good although the light is a little short but the flap keeps it in place.

I don't know about a holster, I use the clip on the light itself all the time. I would order a spare lamp and then you could just keep the lamp, then if it ever fails for some reason, you have the spare.

I've found that if I have a spare Lamp Module, and more specifically, take the trouble to carry it with me or keep it close (like in the car) then I'll "never" need it.

You know the law belonging to Sod; If you could have had a spare lamp on you but didn't, then you'll be needing it.

Thanks for the suggestions -- I have the spare bulb/battery holder myself, but have never "needed it" yet -- of course, that's probably why I should get one for my friend... (if I call him a friend, hehe)

As for the holster, I'll let my friend worry about it -- I'm sure he'll be too happy with the light to care. =)

Thanks again!
