Oh I would give it about maybe 20 hours although that's a guess. The SureFire lamps are stable, and these are my tips for prolonging the bulb life;

1)NEVER touch the bulb, allow it to get wet or dirty. (For cleaning instructions - ask in another thread)

2)NEVER run the batteries completely dead.

3)Buy a spare. (you know you'll only need one if you don't get one)

4)Carry a spare if possible. (you know you'll only need one when you haven't got one)

I don't think anyone's MN03 has died of old age yet? (??)

That's a good sign.

I've only had two SureFire Lamp Modules die of old age. An N62 for my 12PM and an N2 whilst field-testing the M3T. Actually the N2 didn't die, it just got desposits on the inside of the bulb (I did a lot of runtime until the batteries were empty tests)

SureFires are not like ordinary lights.

Is this true? You mean i have to replace those 20 dollar batteries sooner?

Anyway, is this by experience? Thanks for the heads up. Looks like i have to start buying lithiums online now. Why spend 20 dollars on 2 batteries when you can get ~12 at the same price at www.zreiss.com

Thanks again to those that lead me to that site!

I have found that underpowering bulbs over time leads to deposits building up, and the filament becoming more fragile.

This, I have read, and have been warned against.

Of course SF123As are more expensive then Alks. Most 123A batteries are, but you get a whole lot more from your Lithium.

As for living outside the USA - buying from the US can be problematic. There are some cheap deals in Europe too though.

I tend to change batteries more often then most people would because I love the beams at their best!
