question ,,,is it safe too use recharegables in this light ? have some tenergy rcr 123a rated at 3.0v would using 2 of these damage my light ? thanks

No worries, I run rechargeables all the time with the KL1 head....The head employs a buck/boost circuit so its regulated output.

Glad to help!. BTW if you do decide to go rechargeable, go with Protected cells, the R123s 3.7v are good but the P17670 even better. I am using cpfer AW's cells, unfortunately using P17670 requires some enlargement of the body to make the cell fit. However, newer production e2L may not need to modify anything just peel of the battery sticker and you are away. Better runtime with P17670...and also good if you do decide to take on the KL4 head in the future. 2xR123s will fry KL4 though...

The green label 17335 cells Lighthound has should work, 3v and protected. Been using them in my E1L and L1 with no worries. Have fun.

Thanks for the information jumpstat. For some reason I had never thought of using rechargeables in my E2L. Just tried a pair of protected AW's and they work great!:twothumbs
