Hello all,
The SF Hong Kong dealer post the KL3 will available a Sep!
SF HK

while LS site say will not have anything untill Nov..hurry up !

did anyone have an idea for the price of KL3?
Thanks

Odd, I hadn't heard they were making the KL3, I thought it was just the KL1 and KL2. I think they use the same bezel with full regulation, but you just get more runtime with more batteries. The KL1 & KL2 are supposed to fit on the E1 & E2 bodies. If the KL3 really exists maybe an E3 is in the works?

As far as I know, the KL LED-head numbering scheme makes not the slightest bit of sense.

KL1 - Luxeon head for E1 and E2 (e). Runs longer on E2 but the same flat regulated brightness.

KL2 - head for the M3 full of beady little eyes, aka 19 x 5mm Nichia diodes.

KL3 - Luxeon head for all 2 cell 1 inch threaded lights (6P, Z2/6Z, C2, M2, D2).

Sounds backward but that`s what I got from the PK Engineering site a while back. And they are all going to be made eventually, but when, no-one knows

Ignore what I said before, I think Chris is correct. From what I can make of it, it is

KL1 = Luxeon for E series
KL2 = 19 5mm's for M series
KL3 = Luxeon for older or "standard" size lights. I thought this one will also work on 1, 2, or 3 cells?

Again this is what Chris said, and again no one but Surefire knows when they will be released. I think the KL1 and KL3 will be fully regulated, anyone hear otherwise?

My current understanding is that the KL1 & KL3 Bezels will feature the same Luxeon & Regulation B.O.T.
The difference is which body they screw on to.

The output will remain constant, using one, two or three* SF123As changes the runtime.

I believe the KL3 will work on the 3P, 6P, 6R & 9P* body families.

As to how the KL1 performs against the Arc LS... I have no idea, although having waited for the KL1 rather then get an LS based on what I saw at the SHOT Show 2002, I am keen to find out!

P.S.
B.O.T. = Box Of Tricks
*use with three SF123As or the B65 NiCad has not been offically confirmed.
