SF L1 Cree Head swap

Search wasn't working and I couldn't find the answer in other L1 threads.

Will the head from and old style L1 fit on the new Cree L1 body and work properly?

Will the new Cree head fit on the old style body and work properly?

Anyone have both?

I have swapped battery tubes with a Cree L1 owner and both our lights work fine. I have used a 1st gen and 2nd Gen L1 head on the 3rd gen (shorter) body and I assume since I have not heard complaint from my trading partner, that the Cree L1 head is working fine on the 1st gen body I sent him.

I have found that the low level is set partly in the body circuitry since with the same old tailswitch, my gen3 bodied L1 with old heads, has the higher low of the new L1. It is triggered by the resistance of the tailswitch, but set at least in part by the body circuitry.

Good to know.

The old style head and new shorter body will be a nice compact L1.

I have both the old E2L and E2L-Cree they swap bodies fine. It'll even swap bodies with E1L, but it won't light up though.
