Shortest AAA light?

Just want to talk a small bit about the Maglite Solitaire. Definitely not short. So not a good one to use for this topic. But, I wanted to add, originally, the Solitaire was such a poor light; anemic beam, hardly useful. The LED version, however, though not super bright, is quite okay. Far better than before. I have one...that doesn't get used at all. LOL
Well, the Solitaire story is an interesting one. The former Common Law wife of the owner of Maglite designed it. It's an excellent light now, as an LED model. Back in the day, she apparently thought her design was awesome! I guess our dude wanted to keep her happy and keep getting that sweet lovin.' So, into production it went. Considering the accessory that came with it, it was specifically designed to be put on your keychain for an even longer length. So you could light up a keyhole, then use your attached keys to open the door. Oddly, that lanyard accessory is still supplied today with the LED version.

Anyone remember the old 4sevens Preon and Atom with the all flood beam and glow in the dark reflector? I am looking at one each right now and these are smaller than most everything else I have in single AAA size. I recently also bought a few of the very affordable Skilhunt E3A simply because they had some cool colors I wanted. I was surprised at how very small these lights are as well.

Yes, Preon P0 in stainless steel. They're about 56mm, similar to the DQG AAA. The early ones used to eat o-rings but they revised the design to stop that.

I don't think anyone made an AAA light shorter than these, but sadly both no longer made.

I've got a P0 somewhere. I think it fell down the back of some shelves.
Specs: 0.24 lm for 120hrs or 25 lm for 1.5hrs. An XP-E "mule" type beam.

Skilhunt E3A is 59.5mm long.
I second this. I don't know of anything shorter. I think about the only way it COULD be shorter would be to remove the keychain loop.

It's REALLY small. It's excellent for keychains and sticking inside bags, etc. with an eneloop for an emergency light.

Get the high CRI version, and I'd argue it's the single best light under $10.

What's the best source for the e3a in the US?

I just buy them from the Skilhunt site. Orders over like $69 get a 20% stacking discount on the 6% off one they run all the time. Then, above a certain level, you get a free cool white E3A, and can get more money off.

Pick up an H150 and a handful of E3A's (I like them in high CRI), and you'll be happy you did.

Already own an h150. Went to KillZone and picked up a couple to try. Thanks.

You can always get more, hahah :)

I have a pair in 4500K and then in 3000K. They're so great.

With Christmas coming, the E2A is also an AMAZING gift for someone who wants something bigger.

I often put in a bigger Xmas time order for E2A's and E3A's around the holidays. The E3A is great for ANYONE, and the E2A is a great gateway to having a decent light. Both are EXCELLENT for kids, too. They just LOVE them. Get them different colors, different emitters, and they've got endless fun for the winter.
