The NSSF arrangement has SHOT in Vegas for 2011 and 2012. It is a rolling arrangement where they can extend it a year at a time. So, two more years for sure. After that ??? In the past they have had it at Orlando, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans (never again) and, I think, Atlanta. I like Vegas since I can drive there with all my merchandise. Where else would be interesting for the rest of you? Phoenix?. L.A.?, New York?, Honolulu? San Diego? Should be a gun-friendly location so scratch New York and New Orleans. I was in Phoenix for the SAR Show last December. Certainly gun-friendly but I don't think they have a place big enough. I'm not sure of the final total but SHOT this year was somewhere between 800,000 and 1,000,000 square feet.

I think you can scratch all of California off the list. :green: 🤢 :sigh:

The ATV ride in the desert was a total blast. The guide said it only snows there once or twice a year and we hit the first tracks! Snow on the cactus.

We covered almost 60 miles of switchback double track in 6" of snow and then flat out at 80 mph across the edge of the not so dry lake bed.

My thanks go out to everybody for putting on such a wonderful week. David (4 Sevens) and Matt (Battery Junction), you guys rock! Thanks to you and all the mfg's that donated free gifts, I left Vegas with a box full of fun toys.

MrMom, thanks for getting everybody together. :twothumbs And thanks for the "T" Greta.

Cheers

This is SO awesome!! Dave, can you post or PM me info on where to do this? Do you have to have a guide with you or will they let you go it alone? That just looks like TOO much fun!! :twothumbs

Glad to see Stan was able to stay awake for this adventure :grin2:. Looks like you guys had a blast. Wished i could have stayed to join you guys but had to get back to L.A. due to a prior commitment.

It was cool hanging out and talking to these guys during the get togethers.

I have to say that Stan did very good for his first time on a true race quad. These were not stock machines. They had many modifications done to them to help them breathe in the desert air and higher gearing to let them max out around 100mph, per our guide. I had to have had mine closer to 90 when I dropped back from the guide so I could get a run on him from behind. The area where the so called "dry lake" was, had several small puddles around the edges, but was smooth as could be.

Alot of the trails were whoops, some of which were 3 to 4 feet high, which took alot of skill to navigate. We all survived without any DNF's.

You guys missed some awesome views and a good workout, too. I was a little sore 2 days after the ride, but I have since fully recovered and am ready to go again!

If I ever get out there again, this is a "must do again" tour. I think the guide had as much fun as we did, since he didn't have to baby sit us old men (Stan and Dave). 😀

Philadelphia is fairly gun friendly, and the Convention center would most likely be big enough... What... A guy can dream can't he...? 😗 :candle:
