No, the old D2 and D3 Defenders had no crenelations.

Yup, the later 6P Defender was the one that came with the crenelated head, and Z59 clicky.

I don’t think they are very common. My first surefire was a gunmetal 6P with press-fit lens. it was stolen from me in the early 00s and I got the urge to replace it around a year ago. When I was looking, there was a newer production 6P-GM perpetually appearing on eBay for nearly $300 but I managed to find a similar one for $140 after about 6 months. It’s not exactly the same as the one I had back then. I have not stumbled across a press fit 6P-GM for sale since 2003.

PK said they were aimed at a Japanese market. Some made it to Germany it seems. Not extremely rare but not a normal production item like the black 6P either.

I dunno if you can still get them, but I have a Haley Strategic DFT. Kind of an odd ball single cell light with a high output and a grip ring. I also got my oldies like a G3 with a KR2 extension and B65 batteries. I also have my old and beat up 6P defender that I have almost worn all of the finish off.

Not uncommon if you were an NRA member back in the day as they sold them maybe 10-15 years ago.

NRA is a gun rights group in the USA if anyone from elsewhere doesn't know.
