After reading the post in the led forum about silicon grease for the arc aaa i had an idea. would this stuff work for my knives and multi tools too?

nah, you can't get it in the joints and bearings...there is a liquid silicone, I think it's siicone, (or was it teflon? or both?) for knives, and guns, one drop is all you need for the whole piece, it's so lubricious...I'll add the name here if I find it...

There is a silicone spray, but it is hard to just get it into the pivot area. It would be good if you used the knife for cutting food though (use food grade silicone though). For normal lubrication, I use Militiec-1. The company that makes the Tuf-cote rust preventative cloths also makes a couple of decent dry lubes. I think it might be Tuf-Glide, or that might be the product itself. Sorry, but I'm a bit forgetful.

Breakfree CLP isn't a bad choice for knives either, and it can be found anywhere for pretty low prices.

Those are good ones.. I haven't tried this one yet but it sounds perfect; dries on contact, doesn't attract and hold dirt, no smell, a little goes a long way; Remington DRI-LUBE Spray with teflon. $6 for 4 ozs..
I've seen a DuPont product that comes in a black can that seems similar, a teflon lube that comes in 'dry' and 'wet' versions...I'm hoping the 'dry' lube comes out wet enough to penetrate the pivot before it dries...hope this helps...
