Putting together a Mag85, and really don't have a lot of use for rechargeables...so I'm looking for a low priced charger that would easily charge what I need, without a lot of fanciness involved. Figured I'd get some 1800-2000 batteries (like the CBP batteries, which look reasonable) and just want something to charge them. Has anyone seen this charger?

10 station Charger

I noticed for an extra $10 they'll throw in 10 batteries, which sounds like a decent deal.

Yes, and they've got one with 20 cells for an additional $10...but is there a problem using such high capacity cells (2300) with a Mag85? Woudn't 2100 or 2000 be better? Or does it really make a difference?

I hope they will work with a Mag85 because that was what I was planning to use if I ever get all the parts to make mine. My guess would be it depends on the adapter(s) that you use. Hopefully someone that knows this answer will chime in on this.

The higher capacity shouldn't affect anything, other than giving you slightly longer run-time. Now, if you actually want your Mag85 to not run as long between recharges, then yes, a 2100 or 2000 would be better... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Skibane, the issue with high capacity cells is that they're designed for maximum capacity at moderate current drains, and often aren't so good at extremely high current drains like the Mag85 uses.

Random lower-capacity cells may not be so good at high drains either. You need cells that are designed specifically for high drain. The CBP 1600's seem to be the favorite around here these days.
