I am looking for a LED with following features:
>uses single AA, for lightweight
>Neutral or warm tint for outdoors
>good throw w/minimal spill to complement zebralight H501R and preserve my night vision.
>regulated

I found a comment in another thread: The lights with a lens will throw the furthest, but they have no spill and are almost always cool white. A reflector light that throws very far would need a larger reflector which might not be as pocket-able. A light with an optic can give a throwy beam and some spill.

Some examples of each would be enlightening. Thanks.

ps. notice I said good throw, not "best" -because best may come at a weight and bulk that may not be acceptable to me. I will decide what is best for me after researching your suggestions.

Found some interesting lights:

LED Lenser P5
Romisen RC-29 II
Jetbeam RRT1
Quark AA XPE (more throw then newer XPG)
Gander Mountain 125

Welcome to CPF Huz.
The EagleTac P10A is a little large for an AA light but still pocketable. It has good throw, but still a useful overall beam also. Check out some of the threads in the Flashlight Reviews section here for reviews and beamshots.

Good AA thrower examples:
Jet-I Pro v3.0
RRT-0 (with AA extension)
Dereelight C2H (with AA extension)
Quark AA
NDI (not the best, but not too shabby)

jetbeam pro1 v3 warm tint 1aa.

jetbeam rrt1 is not AA light. and its not available with warm tint.

led lenser p5 is not a warm tinted.. all i have seen have been really white to blueish.

romisen rc29 II is shiningbeams white tinted version. but i think there is warm tinted version available from goinggear. but its only one mode light. versatility of the jetbeam pro1 makes it a good option for you.

I have found that the Jet 1 Pro warm tint is a really nice light with very good throw and a nice amount of spill. I have only used 1.5 volt AA,s but I am sure this light would scream on a lithium ion rechargeable AA.

Jetbeam RRT-0....no question. initial lux is 4000 (Lithium AA)!!!. 50% is 2270 Lux after 40min. total runtime is 1h6m before hitting 10 Lux

Check out the Romisen RC-G2 in neutral white from shiningbeam here (he refers to it as "warm")

I modded quite a few of these before they were available with better drivers and neutral LEDs. As per your request, it meets these requirements:
>uses single AA, for lightweight
>Neutral or warm tint for outdoors
>good throw w/minimal spill to complement zebralight H501R and preserve my night vision.
>regulated

with one additional plus....it is priced low and shiningbeam carries replacement parts if you ever need them!

I'd say go for the RC-G2 neutral white from Shiningbeam and get an optic for it. That should give you a good amount of throw and little or no spill while still being lower cost and good quality.

Good AA thrower examples:
Jet-I Pro v3.0
RRT-0 (with AA extension)
Dereelight C2H (with AA extension)
Quark AA
NDI (not the best, but not too shabby)

Thanks for the correction. Your suggestions are appreciated.

I have narrowed down to JetI Pro and Romisen.

Although I plan on going with AA because of ZL H501R, I found some very cool 123 lights such as LensLight Mini CR123, Lumapower, NiteCore SR3, Surefire E1B. May be I can flex a bit.

There are different kinds of optics at different places and different prices.

The one that Malkoff uses could be a good choice, but I don't recall where to buy it.
