D: The exceptional quality and different design of the Spy lights has me wondering what your version of a single CR123 light would be. Any chance we might see an all Ti 1XCR123 light from you in 2009?
Wow, compete in Don's arena!?! I don't think so. The competition is pretty stiff there.
You know I started with a machining center and Wayne. It is working for me and I do not plan to change the recipe. Add Mike to the mix and we are set for 2009. I fill a niche of products designed for and made on a mill. It is a slippery slope because milling is usually reserved for expensive things like fighter aircraft parts. We are going to keep the torch lit and see what happens.
I am currently bound by the STFu. As you know, it is the result of several man-years of work by Wayne and myself. Its reliability and superior function are a big part of what makes the SPY what it is. The STFu MKI is in production and will be used in the various SPII all through 2009 and probably for years to come. The still under construction STFu MKII is a two battery SPY design as well. It is exciting and I can't wait for Wayne to figure out if he can make it work. If it is possible, it will rock and if anybody in the world can do it, it is Wayne.
I have three new SPY light design concepts on the table right now and they all employ the STFu. And I have an exciting new head design in the works for the 007. I am shooting for higher goals. The SPY will continue to be just about as good as we can make it.
I hope this will be a good year for CPF, it sure looks like it is stacking up to be a good year for me. Mike is going to be coming on line full time for me and that will more than double my production capability. He does not have a lathe yet so that work is still at my shop but lathe parts are 10X faster than mill parts. I will probably be able to handle it on top of my design, CNC programming, assembly and sales tasks. Mike lives close to me and we have a great working relationship. I can just run over to his house any time and update a program in his machine or look at what new fixture he has come up with etc, etc. You can't imagine what an advantage that is for us. I only wish Wayne was on the east coast! He has some of the coolest stuff at his disposal too.
Happy New Year everybody!
Cheers
Dave
