Hello, just orderd one for fun.
Tried it on a 1.5V alkaline and got +-4000 lux and tried it on the supplied 4.2V lion and got +-9000lux.
OK so it work on alkaline and lion.
Now my question : do i have to worrie for my 14500 lion to go dead (because the supplied lion is not protected) and the sk68 still lights up with a 1.5V battery?
Will my lion go POOF?

Thanks Marc

I've had a couple Sipik 68s where the driver has broken after running it on 14500. They still work on 14500, but no longer work on 1.5v AA.

You should never drain li-ion cells completely. The Sipik 68 does not have low-voltage cutoff built-in to the driver, and you are not using a protected cell. When light output dims, remove the 14500 and do not use it till you recharge it. Don't let the light go dead while running it on li-ion.
