Skilhunt H150 questions

Ok I'm late to the game and just received my new H150 updated version. I treated it out with the included battery and everything seemed normal. I popped in an Eneloop and it worked but the power indicator didn't work. Is that only a feature that works with 3.7v cells for some reason?

Second question is about the headband. I also recently bought a headlamp by Acebeam and it works well but I noticed the headband has a rubbery stripe that encircles the entire headband. Noticed these Skilhunt bands have the same rubbery stripe. What is the purpose of this and is it supposed to be on the top or bottom of the band. I find it annoying as it sort of pulls my hair when putting it on or taking it off. Thanks.

Not sure about the battery indicator. You may want to email Skilhunt about that. I believe the rubber strip is to prevent slippage off of hard hats.

Correct, that indicator only works on the 14500 cell, similar to the tailcap light of the Tool AA. That headband rubbery strip around it is like an anti-slip thing

I don't care for that strip. Never had a problem with the Zebralight bands and I've used them for about every new version since the H50. Even with the bulky H600 I never thought about adding silicone or even the top strap which "for me" is useless.

Was there sometime post Pandemic when customers were asking for the silicone strip? Wish there was a way to remove it without ruining the band

How many users here are using hard hats though? What % of Skilhunt customers wear hat hats for a living? The people I've seen working in electrical or HVAC that wear headlamps usually have Coast for some reason

I should make a poll here, but how many people actually LIKE that rubbery strip? Never needed one in all these years and now I dislike it enough to want to get replacement bands for both the Skilhunt headlamps I just bought as well as the Acebeam headlamp.

It's a silicone strip to keep it from slipping or moving.

It's common in performance athletic clothing (especially compression clothing at the ends of sleeves and leg openings). It just increases the friction against skin or any other smooth surface. It's fairly effective once you start sweating. If you're out hiking or exercising, you'll need to adjust it a lot less than other styles of headband (I don't use the top strap for these), which tend to absorb sweat, and then start slipping if you're moving (say, jogging, jumping, cycling over bumps, etc).

If you don't like it, you can unthread the band and reverse it on itself, so it will be along the outside.
