How do they compare performance wise...both rum on 2 123 batts, have 3 LED`s...and a main bulb. The Surfire is more expensive. Any one compared the two or have any thoughts?

I suggest you search the LED and flashlight forums here going back about a year. We thrashed this topic out for a while when the TT 2L was new on the scene.

Badbeams- yea, several of us worked on this. The TT 2L is the same format as the A2, the A2 has a better switch. The A2 is a bit brighter than the TT 2L in incandescent. The TT 2L has much increased run time (incandescent) over the A2.

Threading, workmanship, and barrel/bezel finish on both is superb.

That said, I have 2 TT 2L's, use them every day, and am happy as a pig in slop with them. $ 30 vs $ 140 or so.

And no, the SL is not made out of green cheese, left over tractor parts, or whatever some say.

i feel the A2 has more useful runtime though, since its regulated and the output stays constant. with unregulated lights, i end up changing the batteries long before the advertised runtime is used up on a set of batteries. i don't own a TL2L, but i have owned many other 2x123a lights and this is my observation /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
