I feel the need to have a small led light. Not necessarily as small as a photon but maybe thats an option too. I really like the looks of the cmg infinity (is that right?) looks like a solitaire. I'm sure you know what I need. Any help? Thanks

as the owner of 2 Infinitys, I
have the sense that they aren't
quite bright enough for their size, BUT, for a rugged light that runs almost forever on a batt. I still think they'rehard to beat..
p.s.-u might want to take a hard
look at the upcoming Arc-Light from "Gransee", though....

Check this out.

it is a single AAA light about the same brightnes as the CMG infinity, it looks smaller than the Mag solitarie. They are taking pre-orders. Craig Johnson and I should be getting one soon to test and take images of. Granted the CMG using 1 AA should last longer, but this is smaller and last longer than a Photon and much cheaper to run than a Photon.

Well, my two cent`s...I would wait for the Photon III and see how it pans out. For one thing they are bright. They hold out the possibility of being as bright as a Infinity on medium power and on low might give the Infinity a run for the money batt wise. Also don`t overlook the cool factor. I wear mine ( photon II ) on a chain around my neck and it is comfortable and handy. It is without a doubt my most used light. Don`t misunderstand me... I love my Infinity and will also buy a AAA type when they come out (depending on Brock and Craigs opinions). But I am really looking forward to their reveiws of the Photon III.

I just got a photon and cmg infinity. The infinity is pretty big (.75" dia). I'm sure I'll use the photon much more, since it fits unobtrusively on my keyring. It is impressively bright (Am I the only knucklehead who underestimates this light and shines it right in his own eye? Duh!) The ruggedness and runtime of the infinity are nice, so I probably will have it on me at all times when camping.

Nope. And I do it (occasionally) repeatedly with each of my flashlights (incandescents included). Please don't ask me why, because I don't have a reason. It's not smart, although it certainly does smart.

Maybe that's why I'm Cyclops... burned out my other eye???

It took me a while to find the right niche for my Infinity, but I've finally discovered that it's a perfect light for keeping within easy reach in the car. My wife can grade papers with it, or we can use it for reading maps or looking for whatever's rolled out of reach onto the floor. It's bright enough to read a map by, without being too distracting to the driver. The trivial cost per hour means that we don't have to have any concern over running it for a long time, unlike a photon.

We tried a dimmed-down Eternalight for reading on the road, but the pulsing that the Eternalight uses at the lower brightness settings is somehow disturbing for reading, at least when in motion.

That said, it's still too chunky to carry around regularly.

All I can say is that I disagree. My white Infinity has earned its place in my left front pants pocket. Considering that I work in an office and wear either suit pants or Dockers, it can't be too big and chunky. I do have to admit, though, that if it were much larger, it would pass the barrier and be relegated to the jacket or the briefcase.
