Have yet to pick one up, but I'm this close, and have just a few questions for you Sebbie owners out there. I'm not going to go into the whole "SNG vs Sebenza" debate and open up that can o' worms, but I do have a question regarding CRK's warranty. Strider pretty much claims that if you break it they'll fix it, whereas doesn't CRK have a stipulation in their warranty clause that you're not supposed to 'flick' it open? If so, how do they determine if damage sustained to the knife is a direct result of opening that way? I'm not one who opens using this method ordinarily, but I'm sure it will happen from time to time and don't want to worry in the back of my mind that I'll somehow void my warranty.

Secondly, doesn't any modification whatsoever to the knife itself void the warranty? I was considering sending my Sebenza, once I get it that is, to Pontiaker here on the forums for a custom skull-type engraving on the front scale. CRK offers certain unique graphic iterations as well as computer generated graphic iterations for their production runs, so would me having a skull cut into the front void the warranty?

Thanks for the advice lovecpf

To the very BEST of my understanding, any modding voids the warrantee.

I love Matt's work! I love how he melts Sebbies. I also very much loves his knives.

While the boiler plate states about warranty, most will handle on a case by case basis. Call CR up and state what you want to have done, they will tell you. Lots of custom knives get decorative embellishment and so long as it does not alter function you should be good.

Now if you decide you want an semi-auto and have a maker build a cam opener into it, yes, voided warranty.
