So I see that doing resistance fixes in ROP = instaflash eh.

Right behind you with a 6D Mag623 !!
I did the same thing that can be seen here.
http://homepage.mac.com/rouses/circuits/PhotoAlbum289.html

Both HI bulbs lasted less than 1 second but for some reason the LO ran 3 minutes with no problem.

What gives??

I put my analog meter on it and have 7.8 volts at the bulb.(sorry, no DMM)

My Tenergy 10,000 mah D cells aren't even fully charged !!!

Crap......:mecry:... two bulbs in a row.... :sigh:

maybe I'll just go to a different bulb.

But the 5761 hates the resistance mods too right???

dang, search says that 6 D ROP will flash with resistance fixes.

wish I had searched while I still had some bulbs left

search also says that it will fry 5761 and 64275 bulbs with ease.

so I don't really have any options?

talk about suck

Why did it only toast the HI and not the LO ??

The + is your low lamp should run brighter.

Bill

for less than 1 second?

I know brighter = less runtime but 1 second is gettin a little rediculous.

oh well

maybe I'll switch to 1/2 D cells and run a basic 12 volt

anyone know where to get NiMH 1/2 D's?

anyone want to buy some Tenergy 10,000 mah D cells?
6 only charged once and never run down and 6 still wrapped

Have you done the tailcap resitance fix, If so then I would suggest removing it and you should be ok.

Yes I did and no I won't.

I'm all out of bulbs :mecry:

I was digging in my toolbox just now and came across a old H1 12v 100W axial coil "funky base" bulb.

Well with a pair of dikes (sidecutters) I removed the base and it is now a bi-pin !!

I took my bulb out and AMAZING, it fits through the hole on my FM MOP aluminum reflector !!

Stuck it down where the contacts are in the socket and WOW I burned my fingers.
But, it was damn bright !!:naughty:

maybe a 50 watt and a fresh charge

all this gets me thinking about some of the bulbs I looked at recently.
I don't see what is wrong with a 12v bulb driven at 12v to produce 2300 bl.

seems like what should be 7.2v (6x1.2) is really 8.3 or so.

So if I were to run 10 1/2 D cells I should be able to hold 12-13.2v for some time right?
Should make 1500-1800 torch lumens with some kinda decent runtime.

I know this has all been gone over but I'm new ok?

i had exactly the same problem...:(

i got a kiu and a hotdriver, bored out the reflector slightly and run a 64275 and after tinkering it lasts over 1h.35m+ very very white and smoth beam:p

pm me if you need any help with the above...
