search always always hates me plus this field moves so fast.i want a very small light but very very brighti like the wow factor.and yes im a dork lol i have a fenix p1d premium q5 now that i adore id prefare the same size or smaller but brighter i figured maybe something new came out thats brighter if not i will wait

Get a Nitecore EX10. Im not sure if it's brighter than the P1D, but hopefully someone will chime in to clear that up. It has a great user interface, brightness, and runtime. I couldn't be happier with mine. I have it on my keychain and EDC it.

I dont think there's anything much brighter than it at that size...probably have to wait for higher bin leds

wow things move so fast never heard of them i love my fenix.its very very bright

i love mine but id thought by now some new leds would of been out.guess there at a bttole neck in led tech

Amilite has their "Cuty XRE", it's a little thinner and shorter than the Fenix, brightness looks about the same, Amilte tint appears a little whiter, both pretty cool though...:D

Hi raggie,
I think you'll see the next leap in small WOW lights when cree releases it's 4 die emitter. It is supposed to be the same physical size as existing XRE's so it should be able to use existing reflectors. For now, you can build an uber-brite mod using Seoul's P7 emitter but for all practical purposes, you need at least an 18650 to drive it (3.7 vf @ 2.8 amps) and reflectors are hit and miss due to the emitters 9mm diameter. My smallest P7 build to date is hosted in my old Huntlight FT01X XR-E. The emitter is mounted in a P60 module found at DX. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=204984

I was outside comparing it to other P7 builds last night. On high (DX direct drive board) it throws a bright wall of light visually equivalent to the output of my 5 cree Q5 elephant2 driven at 750mA. It certainly wows my P1DQ5 and is quite pocketable. I noticed last night that DX or Kai (can't remember which) has a small 18650 host (no driver or emitter) listed - smaller than the Huntlight and perhaps my next P7 victim.

What ever you buy today, 6 months from now something will be brighter. :)
What about an Orb?? Super small, super bright.

SIDE NOTE: Raggie33.... you have some 8,000 posts here on CPF and you haven't heard / know about these small LED's???

Maybe you posted a bunch in other parts of CPF (rather than the LED forum). Am I right?

Sorry to be off-topic a bit, but 8,000 posts on CPF and you are asking kind of a beginner flashoholic's questions... no disrespect intended.

I think you know where most of Raggie33's posts are :). About the his question I think only high-end or custom built lights are capable of beating P1D but for the price P1D is still on top. I'm still a newbie, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey Raggie. It's good to hear from you again. If you want a nice little inexpensive ($15) pocket light get you a Fenix E01. It's well made with great regulation and puts out about 10 lumens. Comes in a bunch of different body colors, too.

You'll take a bit of a risk, and may void your warranty depending on where you buy it, but a Fenix LOD-CE Q4 with a AW 10440's gives you a lot of WOW factor in a small light. I've been running a 10440 in mine with no issues so far. You just have to be careful not to over charge or over discharge the 10440 as it is not protected. Also there is always the risk of BOOOM with lithium ion batteries. So if you go this way, read up on how to safely work with these batteries.

On CPFMP's Dealer topic AW sells a pair of 10440 with a charger.

As someone else mentioned you may like the Lummi Orb lights.

I think the Nightcore EX10 is smaller than the P1D but I could be wrong. It is definitely thinner though. It's sold by 4sevens of Fenix-Store (4sevens.com)

cool ill look into all above i do love my fenix though.only thing id say change is id love to see the same light with push butten
