I'm interested in getting a solarforce L2 very soon, but I'm having a difficult time choosing a color. I know there's the L2B (black), L2D (desert sand) and L2G (gray). But what colors are the L2BF and L2GF variants?

Anyone have either of these? The L2BF is very attractive on my monitor, but studio pics can be deceiving.

Hey

There are 3 colors and 1 Special Edition L2/L2m. Both have those colors except there is no Special Edition L2m

The colors are Gunmetal, Desert Sand and Black. Special Edition is made of Stainless Steel.

Not quite sure where you're getting those color codes but it's pretty simple.

I'm getting the color codes from the store site.

The L2GF looks like its the SS...I can't figure out the L2BF would like like in person. Anyone have one?

Maybe this will help. Gunmetal L2m.

The L2GF is gunmetal as in jake25's photo - I have one in my hand right now. I believe the L2BF is black.

Thanks for clearing up GF. Did you look at the site? I'm pretty sure that the L2B is black.

You can view more photos of the available colors here.

IMHO
Black - Is more compatible to lego with other parts and with other brands.
Gunmetal/Pewter - Pretty unique, not a lot of flashlights has this color.
Sand - Even rarer, and on top of that, matt in finish.

Initially I have difficulty picking colors too, I chose Gunmetal... then end up picking up 2 more black ones. Different people, different preferences 🙂

The gunmetal is actually quite dark. It's a nice dark Olive Drabby color.

lol, you guys have confused me even more! if you look at the solarforce store site, there are clearly 5 different colors. The GF on the site looks nothing like the picture posted above (it looks more like L2G to me).

I hope the US rep will get all of them in soon and take a group picture so I can compare them all at the same time 😉

How about this?? lol. I didn't take this photo to demonstrate the color but you can see it.

There really are only 3 colors. Gunmetal, Sand and Black. The codes can get confusing but those are the only 3.

I get it now. The F at the end of the code refers to a smooth non-crenelated bezel. If you look at the site, pictures of the F and the non-F look very different, and so I thought they were completely different colors.

Who is the U.S Rep? I just ordered 15 of these from HK because I couldnt find a U.S Rep. Something I encountered was all the lights I ordered are 3.7v - 8.4v R2 5 modes and apparently the pressure switches I received are made for a single mode, everytime you hit the switch it changes to another mode, anyone have this problem? Ill make sure I get some single modes on the next order, should work ok on those. BTW the Gunmetal looks awesome!!

Only 3 (not including SS). AFAIK. I've also checked from the source in the HK site, there're only 3 colors.
For the shots in the site, I believe they are not color corrected, the gunmetal should all be the same, unless there's discrepancy in the color QC.

d1live you're talking to him :grin2:

If you're giving a "half" tap after turning the light on. That is how the 5 mode works in changing modes. Unless I'm reading it wrong, I believe your light(s) are fine.

Iam using the pressure switch to turn the light on, I can turn it on again later and it comes on in the next mode, no half tapping, all of them do this. Everytime I turn it on it goes to the next mode, no matter how you do it with the pressure switch. Your saying the pressure switch is supposed to work with the 5 mode lights, it wont, no matter how you push the PS it changes to the next mode. The tail cap switches work great, as they should. BTW nice to know theirs a U.S rep, Ill PM you, this thread is about colors not pressure switches lol, thanks..

Unfortunately, there is no real 'US rep' to speak of.... Jake, like myself, is a dealer for the Solarforce line of products, here in the States. This doesn't make us 'Reps' of the company per se.
That said, I have had absolutely no troubles what-so-ever with the pressure switches on the L2 with the memory feature. If you are having issues it is NOT due to the pressure switch itself (as they only offer one) [that is to say that they do not have a pressure switch for one model L2 and a different pressure switch for a different L2]
This is one of the problems that occurs, unfortunately, with dealing directly with the manufacturers oversees. There is a rather difficult communications barrier that exists and quite often the sources oversees doesn't / isn't able to understand fully what the costumer is sometimes wanting. (This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen rather frequently.)
I help this helps clarify a little bit for you. Hopefully Jake is able to help you out even more.

All the lights work great and all the pressure switches work the same, ordered up some single mode lights and all will be just fine 🙂 . Really nice little lights for the price and that gunmetal is very eye catching, most that have seen mine say they like the black better but Iam actually liking something alittle different here lately, seems 80% or more of my collection are black flashlights. Goodluck with those color choices, the pictures Ive seen are really good so expect what ya see, you'll be happy with what you pick, not my opinion lol.

L2GF - L2, Grey, Flat bezel
L2BF - L2, Black, Flat bezel
L2D - L2, Desert sand, crenated bezel etc

About colours in person - they're the same, camera settings make them looks diffrent. A few pics and review of new L2GF here.
