Tonight, at a local street dance I was walking around and saw a kid picking on another, and not a minute later they were fighting. When I saw where this was going I pulled out my Solarforce L2/MCE and gave them a blast of white light! They instantly stopped fighting and ran off, (thinking I was a LEO) I was really surprised at the power a light can have on a situation must like this. I have read the stories, but now I'm a believier.. Just thought I'd share :)

thanks to this thread and other solarforce related threads i have decided and have in fact ordered and paid for my first solarforce L2, using their deal on the 'build your own light' at under $40.

to share another little story, i was sitting at one of the 'al fresco' tables at this bar (no smoking in bars in singapore and smoking is allowed outside only at designated tables) and could see a bus stop about 15 - 20 metres away (no smoking there either) where there was this 'troubled youth' blatantly smoking away to the annoyance of other pedestrians waiting for the bus (he was probably underaged too, we have legislation here about underaged smoking), being irritated AND inebriated, i took out my SF G2 fitted with a one mode DX R2 dropin and blasted said troubled youth.

he had a shock and turned to see who it was when i yelled to him, "don't you know that there is no smoking at bus stops?" He immediately throws the cigarette on the ground and steps on it with a "SORRY SIR!" to which i replied, "Hey you! Smoking at bus stops, probably underaged AND littering? You are just asking for it" whereupon he picks up the cigarette butt, drops it in a litter bin and gets on the next bus.

Bright light = cop? who knows, maybe its just cos someone dared to voice their displeasure. And note, coward that i am, it was just ONE troubled youth, hahaha

wah, u pretended to be 'mata' in singapore? :D

Yeah, a blast of bright light always makes someone panic in the dark especially if they're doing something 'wrong'

Glad it worked out for you.

Next time, hold the flashlight to your side and away from your body.

That way the bullet is less likely to hit you.

I live downtown in a large city and wouldn't try what you did.

Very good advice, and be careful out there. You never know what kind of nut jobs are lurking.

Thanks for the advice, I made sure of what I was dealing with before I lit em up (10-12 year olds) I didn't expect any firearm confrontation, (though I have trained in several martial arts for 8 years) but thanks for the advice :)

haha, no, if you read it properly, there was no representation made that i was a member of law enforcement, everything i said was a simple statement of fact :D what that youth assumed is not my problem
