Host: 2D Pewter Maglite
Power: 3C Alkaline or NiMH. (Tail cap and spring modded, PVC battery sleeve)
LED: Seoul P4 USV0I (Warm white, No cold blue/white)
Driver: Wizard 2 917ma (Measured at ~940ma at LED)
GITD: Bezel! 2-Ton epoxy with Green Strontium Aluminate.
Heatsink is hotlips/osink style pressed in with thermal paste and tacked around the top edge with Arctic Alumina epoxy to keep it from sliding out if the mag is dropped. The driver is potted in the back of the heatsink. It is step-up/step-down and will regulate constant current. Wires soldered directly to switch and circuit. LED attached with Arctic Alumina epoxy (isolated).
There is no GITD around the led, but it has teflon wires so when the next big LED comes out you can remove it and re-solder on a new one. You could still paint around the heatsink with GITD paint if you wished of course. The heatsink is flat so any led will work.
Here is a picture of the light before I switched the LED to the Seoul.
Here is a picture of the light again. It has a small scratch on the head. (Don't know how that happened, I just noticed it).
I don't think anyone else has done a glow bezel mag. This one is unique!
$88 shipped.
