1) Blue Maglite 2D (2x26650 li-ion) MT-G2 4000K Flashlight [Sold to jaybiz32] $110 $120 $130 $140 150 MT-G2 leans towards neutral as it is, but this emitter is binned at just the right tint. Has 4 output levels with memory (recommend dropping down from max mode to a lower mode if it gets too hot to hold), with a night vision friendly low and an incredible max, about 8.5 amps on max. Can run on 18650, 26650, or 32650 batteries. The tailcap does scratch the bottom battery up a tiny bit for full disclosure. Includes a matched pair of Efest 26650 IMR batteries. with a battery spacer for use with these cells. They have not been discharged below 3.8v so they have many top-offs and full recharge cycles left. Also included is a brand new (unopened) Nitecore D2 charger that can charges these, as well as other li-ion and NiMH batteries.

It does okay in throw, but with the MT-G2 emitter this one has more flood than throw. Lights up a wide area very nicely but punches through some with brute force.

How is the throw on this light? I just started talking to kyfishguy about building a throwy mag

This Maglite was modded by kyfishguy. The following is from a sales thread he did of the same build (only in a different color host). Hope this helps:

Up for sale is a 2D maglite modified with a 4000K MT-G2 under a stippled mag rebel reflector and a 52mm AR coated lens. The driver is a BLF17DD FET driver zener modded for two lithium ion cells in series. The driver is flashed with STAR firmware featuring four modes (low-med-high-turbo) in ascending order and off time memory. This light draws around 8.5 amps from a pair of powerizer 26650 cells (not included). The main emitter power is routed around the switch to reduce resistance and protect the switch.


The heatsink is a 3/4" thick chunk of aluminum rod wrapped in copper sheet. The original spring has been cut down and resistance modded with 22 gauge wire to accommodate unprotected cells. Under the original spring is a C mag spring retained in the cap with epoxy (also resistance modded) which can be used if the buyer prefers to use protected cells. This light will function with protected and unprotected 18650, 26650, and 32650 cells.

How many lumen off of High. How long can it go on high until it gets hot.

On max it is approximately 3000-3500 lumens. For me, the light gets uncomfortably hot 3 minutes in to max, this is where I would drop it down one level. The area where it gets hot isn't so much the head but around the switch area.

High mode is approximately 1500 lumens. I ran it 10 minutes straight. The light does get warm around the switch and lower head, but it is not uncomfortably warm. Hope this helps.
