I sent the light back to Mac, to have the driver changed from its original 5-mode lower power version to his latest arrangement - 3-level with 2.8A high (IMR required!). It's wicked bright now, and a perfect beam.
I also added the 2-way stainless pocket clip shown here:
The knurling is the finest I've seen this side of Katokichi Ichishiki.
