Soldering a Cree emitter?

Soldering is not really that difficult. I have soldered 9 Crees so far and everything went ok.
But as you can see from the thermal image, glueing the Cree on with thermal epoxy works just as well as soldering. So I would use epoxy, especially as one does not have to expose the LED to heat. I soldered mine before the thermal image was made, so I did not know that epoxy would be the better solution.
If you want to solder anyhow, check video #57

So how difficult is it to solder a Cree emitter? I would have preferred a star but the restriction in thermal properties was really disappointing.

Great pic, wish we had a normal picture as well to see the configuration better.
Says alot for thermal epoxy for sure.

And great vid Julez, hope you didn't burn a finger on that one.. :goodjob:
