SouthEast Laser Enthusiast Meeting

A few of us over at PhotonLexicon.com have been working to get a laser enthusiasts gettogether going. We did one in Florida in January that was kinda small but went off very well. This time we are going a little bigger and trying for the whole southeast. I didn't bring the Florida one up here on CPF when we did it and I felt bad afterwards when I thought about it.

I know we have some coherent light freaks here also, since it is where I caught the obsession also.

This time we are meeting in North Carolina on August the 18th and 19th. We are renting an auditorium at a local civic center in Newton, NC. I'm not that good with details, but here is a link to the thread at Photonlexicon. I boo and hisss in this one as I cannot make it at this time... but can by this-> There is also a sign up thread here that we need people who are interested to say hello so we know what to plan for. We are also trying to divide up the cost for the auditorium rental. I think we are at $87.50 a "party" (you an your significant other or so) but have 2 maybes so it may be $70 or less if there are others. I think we have it reserved so there will be no need of $ up front. I haven't even paid yet.

So far we will have at least 6 RGB color projectors and the President of Pangolin and his trusty Sidekick will be there to enlighten anyone on the science of laser show hardware and software. One was at the Florida gathering and showed us a LOT of interesting information.

Cool! I knew if I didn't check this for a lil while someone would reply. :thumbsup: I spoke with Adam today and he mentioned you talked with him. He is the facilitator and doing an awesome job. Our meet in Florida was really good and this is garrantieed to be better. :twothumbs

Wanted to give an update. Looks like there was a miscommunication about the price. It is, as of right now, $50 per couple/familly, with the more who come the less it will be. :twothumbs

Two or so days away. I see we got one of ya interested, it got me a referal at PL, thanks kelly! We have everything set... I hope, and everyone is excited. Some other members across the pond had a similar meet last weekend and it looks to have been awesome. Even better than the meet we had in Florida. So we have a standard to beat now. :thumbsup: I just wish it wasn't going to be a 10 hour drive for me... :sweat:

Today is set up day... and travel day I guess. I have a 10 hour drive ahead of me and we are leaving 4+ hours late... :ironic: still got to get that car packed.
