Well I have been thinking on this idea and I will probably try it out soon on a test pair of jeans but has anyone ever sewn (sp?) a special pocket into their pre-existing jeans/pants pocket? Im thinking of doing it for a P60 sized host so I dont have to keep throwing clips on every light I buy. I dont currently know how to sew so I will probably employ my mother or fiance to do it for me.
If anybody has done this before please post pics. Also a link to sewing how-to might be helpful lol.

Some pants have special cell phone pockets, so ones similarly geared towards flashlights would be just as useful, I think.

what about nylon and leather pouches attached to the belt etc
I find them less cumbersome and easier to deploy.

Well I have plenty of pouch's and Kydex holster's etc but I allready get enough comments about my flashlights and knives without them being extremely visable on my belt lol. Believe me I used to carry a 6PL in a speed holster on a regular basis before CPF walked into my life and man did I get some funny comments on my EDC gear as I work with dogs and a flashlight isnt exactly concidered a necessity by most at a dog boarding/training facility!

I wear 5.11 tactical pants or equivalent every day. The magazine pocket fits a 6P relatively well. I prefer a holster of some sort over keeping it in the pocket though, for a light that large. I'm currently employing a Bianchi Accumold 7326. Small and unobstructive.

I had a tailor sew in loops of elastic cord/bands to hold a flashlight body vertically without the need for a clip. The loop size was set for the SF E-series.

This seems to be kind of the Idea im thinking of. One of the things that gets on my nerves the most is bulky stuff (or anything) getting down in the bottom of my pocket or turned sideways. That goes for anything. Flashlights knives, cell phone, pens, even money gets on my nerves if it sits in the very bottom of my pocket for too long! If this works I will also try sewing a special inner waistband holster into all of my jeans for concealed carry.

If your here then that should not happen. :naughty:
Somehow I kinda thought I would hear something along those lines hah But dont worry im only talking about pennies nickels and dimes! Very rarely do I have any signifigant amount of money on me any more. I remember the good ole' days when id carry $500-$700 worth of cash on me at all times and thats when I was in highschool, what ever happened to that?:shrug::broke:
But have no fear theres at least 2 lights and a few parts in the mail on route to my house and I have another $77 bid on Ebay that I will either win or loose in about 7 minutes

I know some people like to rip the bottom of the fifth pocket on jeans to accommodate larger knives...don't see why it wouldn't work for flashlights.

Hmmm, i liked the idea of this thread from the beginning, but removing the bottom of the never used coin pocket would be nice for a 2 cell...hmmmm

I've done something very similar to all my jeans, sewing a divider to keep my EDC knifes (mostly Spyderco Militaries) upstraight in the pocket. That way it always remains in the perfect place, perfect orientation, no need to be showing off the clip.

Thought about doing the same for a flashlight, but my rotation in that department is much more flexible than a single model...

Your my freakin hero man, thats a brilliant idea. Now to locate a sewing machine.
The only reason I don't EDC a bigger light, is I don't want to belt carry, and clippin one to my pocket never seems to work, and rubs the side of my hand when I put my hands in my pockets. Having a divider would allow the larger light to go all the in my pocket, but oriented properly and not rub my hand. Might even do that for my knife.
I think you just made my day

CR2 lights fit just right in the coin pocket of jeans. In my long life I never had any use at all for that coin pocket - until you guys made me a flashlight nut.

W.

Crocodilo that is almost exactly what im talking about! I will try that in one pocket and someone earlier mention a piece of elastic band that could accomodate larger or smaller lights, My main intention is to "conceal" my EDC items so I dont have pocket clips hanging out everywhere
