Today I tried to direct drive a SST-90 with a LiFePO4 battery, conclusion it won't work a charged LiFePO4 has about 3.35V and the led drains only 500mA.

So if anyone has the same idea don't lose time doing it. :)

Li Polymer will give you about 4 amps DD
LiIon will give you almost 4 as well.

In direct drive is that 4 amps per battery?

For example, if you had four 18650 Li-ion batteries in a 2-cell (7.2V) configuration...i.e. 2 batteries in parallel per cell...does that allow for 8amps, or is it 4amps irrespective of configuration

Yesterday by mistake I tested a 7,4V 5000 mA Li-Po for a few seconds and got 10.9A, with 0.280 R in series will give about 7A.

Today I will try a single Li-Po 30C and compare to the Li-on that I have here and choose, I will leave in vacations in one week and have this time to build a 2 SST-90 video lamp in my spare time.

Those stars don't have the same problems that I found with MC-E, even at 7A the front of the led was cold, the conditions were different this time I didn't used arctic glue but paste and nylon screws.

This information is not correct, I just discover that I had a damaged cable

It's possible to go to 1.5A, 1.8 or probably more depending on the battery used.
