Stainless Steel battery tank safe?

This sealed vial can hold two 10180 batteries, but being fashioned from stainless steel I can't help but worry of a short circuit, which could not only lead to battery fatigue, but also fire.

Anyone got any experience with a ss container for batteries?

Although a short is unlikely as long as the battery is physically shorter than the case and fits tight enough that no position could result in simultaneous contact of both terminals with the case, I do not consider a metal battery case to be the best idea.

If you or a buddy have a lathe, a very effective container can be readily fashioned from Delrin/acetal.

A metal container can work, but the terminals should be isolated by something non-conductive.

Seems like a great idea, until you put it into practice. Trust me, a delrin container on your keychain is annoying. Metal banging against delrin is not music, just annoying.

OP, if you acquire this battery tank, let us know if it fits a single AAA cell also
