I just got my modest order of 36 Surefire SF123 batts from Surefire, and the dates were all 12-2011. I would've expected maybe 2013. Does this mean they've been sitting around for 2 years? What dates are others receiving?

I received 72 a week ago direct from Surefire that were dated 05-2013

I got 3 dozen about a month ago and they all say 03-2013

Louie, you have old batteries that have been sittin' around for two years. Don't attempt to use them, they are too old and probably don't work anyway. Please mail them all to me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Surefire puts a "ten year out" date on them when they are made. We put current date of manufacture on them. This has created confusion as to expiration date or date of manufacture. Different companies just do it differently.

My latest batch arrived with the new labeling on the boxes and they are 8/2013 although the previous batch with the old style labeling on the boxes also says 8/2013 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I purchased 84 of them back in June and mine are labelled 03/2013. Seems they found a (somewhat) stale batch for you, although there shouldn't really be any noticeable degradation.

I bought six boxes in September with the same 03/2013 date.

Surefire must not practice FIFO. I bought 8 dozen in July that were the 8/2013 batch with the earlier packaging style and another 8 dozen in October that had the newer printing but still and 8/2013 date.
