Interesting document; thanks for posting this. I'm betting that there's been a lot of activity in the past 6 months. This document was compiled in 1999, so there could be laws on the books that don't show up here...

I live in Florida. So I have to register my 20 class 3a and 5 3b lasers? But I'm not a facility, and they are not systems, they just light up.

But they sell 3a pointers for a dollar at the flea market. Right next to the counterfeit Poke mon cards.

Great link. Thank you. $1000 bucks and/or 90 days in jail for me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sick2.gif

Seems NJ has more harsh punishments than most other states. I'm not arguing though, it might be that way for a good reason /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

The toy of the middle school.

Nonetheless, playful use by young people has become the rule—not the exception—and ''dotting'' occurs on almost anything, anywhere
at any time.

Purchase limitations: Several states ~AR, HI, NJ, and
possibly TX! deemed it appropriate to limit the sale of laser
pointers to adults only ~e.g., 18 years and older!.

Interesting report indeed.

I guess some people will be angrily denouncing the Laser Institute now.
