Stepping up

I love the brightness and dimensions of single 18650 lights. I would like to find ones slightly bigger and brighter but with similar dimensions. Double or triple 18650s do not seem to be th answer as they are either too short and stubby or too long and skinny. Is 3 x rc123 the answer? What options are there in this form?

Surefire 9p with a Malkoff dropin of the appropriate voltage? Malkoff Hound dog or Wildcat? Solarforce host with extender for 3x123 with dropin?

There are 26650 lights available, these will have the same brightness since brightness is really only a matter of what led is in the light and how hard it's driven. These will be slightly wider but not longer but will have more run time and some will be able to run on 3xAA batteries too.
