Hi all,

I have an Ultrafire 14500 that shows 4,2 volts off the charger, but it makes my Rexlight do nothing . Not a flicker... I have three more batteries of the same kind, and one more identical flashlight. Every combination works, except with this particular battery which does not work at all. The charger refuses to charge it any more, since it allready holds 4,2V

Is it possible that the battery can be charged, show full voltage, and still give no current?

Is it protected ? Perhaps the current cut-off limit is a bit lower than the others. Either that or it's just faulty inside. You can get a nylon shirt to read 4 volts but drawing enough current out of it to power something...

If it's not protected, bin it.

Is it protected ?

I forgot to say. No, it's not protected.

Im growing a little sceptic to 14500's actually. Last year I had one that blew my old charger and the circuit fuse in my house, spectacular style.

Probably going to toss it.
