I have been carrying my Streamlight Microstream for a few months now. The The light is rated at 20 lumens with a 1 hour 30 min run time [workable] and an extra 20-30 minutes of dimmed light on a weak battery. Streamlight recommends alkaline batteries only and they say using lithium batteries can burn the diode.
I have been running lithium batteries for a while now but I wanted to test the run time with a fresh battery. I popped in an Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA cell and let the light run with my iPhone timer. Not only did the LED increase from 20 to 25 lumens, but the light ran solid for 4 hours 30 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes of a dimmer beam.
Anyway, I was pretty surprised with my results. I just thought I would share them here.
