Streamlight has upped the output of their latest ProTac to 5300! The HL6 is now a 5300, 1500, 450 lumen output number about the size of a 3C Maglite.

Meh - old version was too bright already. Needs a much lower low and a tail dual switch. A smaller lower lumen LED with a longer throw and better tint would be the way to go.

One night at work I used the HL4 on medium (600 lumens) to light up an excavation. Due to the frosted optic nobody was blinded but found it lit the approx 50' x 25' x 6' deep hole. It provided the needed amount of light while sipping the batteries. With the HL6 nearly that amount of light can be provided with way more run time.

So it appears that the SL-B48's are 21700's

I will definitely be getting at least 1 of these, as I've felt that the HL-5X's I have are in need of an upgrade, to accept 21700's

Ok…this thing is a beast. The only downside of it is the switch…it just feels a little bit cheap, but not too bad. The photos are comparing it to a Malkoff hound dog 18650…older style. The spill of the hl6 is amazing and bigger an area covered…the larger the spill gets due to the TIR optic.
