Streamlight PT 2L rechargeable batteries

I have searched here and the web in general trying to find out if this light will run with rechargeables.

I tried a Pila 168S and it would not run. Does anyone know what battery or combination of batteries will work on it?

Oh, man. Has no one been able to get this to work with anything other than primaries?

I am using 2 x RCR123 3.0v 1000mAH (#17335) with no issues.
