Hi, anyone know much of anything about this light? How new it is, differences between this and old model? Most of the searches I found related to the incan, a few mentioned "40 lumens" and "Luxeon" but I haven't seem to found much about this particular one.

A co-worker purchased a Strion and charger cradle etc off the tool truck at work for a little more than I felt he should have paid. I would like to tell him how much better off he would be with the new Scorpion, a pair of AW 16340's and the Ultrafire 139 and spacers.

Should still be less than he paid, with the added bonus of runtime. It appears the Scorpion uses primary 123's, not the proprietary Streamlight battery, but I don't know if it would be safe to use with RCR123. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Oops, forgot the link.

I think it's just a Scorpion LED with a new-generation emitter (Rebel, Cree, new K2, etc.). Expect double the output with the same runtime (same everything, basically).

I'd like to know how flashlight reviews.com rates the throw/overall light. The regular Scorpion LED seemed pretty weak.

OOOO a hybrid reflector! That's a nice beam. Also light-reviews.com says it's a cree, it's definately a K2.

Yes it uses improved Luxeon K2 TFFC. I've tried mine with LiFePo4 cells (3,2V) and the runtime was very short ~15 minutes and the light got extremely hot and the driver stinks like burned now... Fortunately it still works! I really can't recommend using rechargeable cells.

You can't? I can. I use a 14670. A 17670 ALMOST fits, but I wouldn't be able to get it back out. I'd love to be able to evenly remove just a hair from the ID of the body tube.

Scorpion LED is good, but I need more lumens, perhaps around 200. Any advice on upgradable bulb  ? Tks for advices
