I was comparing a Nitecore 21700 battery to my Streamlight Strion battery (Part# 74175), and it is nearly identical in size to the 21700. Does anyone here know if that Strion battery is in fact a 21700?

So do you feel it would be relatively safe to use a standard, protected, button top 18650 in the Strion?

An 18650 battery is rewired to both terminals in one side (similar to Stinger) and conventional battery can not be used.

if yours is bad and you can solder its easy to replace the cell with better than it came with.

I'm reasonably good at soldering; however, I'd be interested in knowing if the overall process of replacing the 18650 cell in a Strion battery module, but haven't found it documented. Have you seen it in video or write-up form?
