Has anyone tried the Streamlight TL-3 on AW's 17500's? What is the approximate/estimated runtime and lumen for this setup versus primaries?

Thanks.

Unfortunately I can't comment on the stock TL-3 bulb because I run an H-1499 bulb in mine on 17500's. Although, before I got the upgraded bulb, I put the 17500's in and noticed that it was whiter(which also usually means a bit brighter) with the rechargables.

With my upgraded bulb(which I highly reccommend, this set-up is my ULTIMATE pocket rocket!) I did take some lux measurements with the 17500's compared to the 123 primaries. On the primaries, I got 11,000lux. With the AW protected 17500's, I got 14,500lux!! I also measured it's total output in my homemade "lightbox"(which seems to be within 15% accuracy) and I came up with ~250lumens.

I absolutely love my modded TL-3  I believe there is still some of those bulbs avaliable in the group-buy section....you should check it out :)

The Streamlight TL-3 has a whiter and brighter beam on AW's 17500s. I don't know how long the max runtime is. I've used them for about 40 minutes before and it was still working fine.

i definitely like my TL-3 on 17500's more than cr123 primaries... paid for itself on a 3 day inspection trip.....

i did have a carley h1499 installed once... it was brighter than stock lamp but died after a couple of weeks using it especially after it fell on its side while resting on its bezel when i accidentally knocked it.... the spare carley bulb is waiting in a film tube for special purpose use...
